Prior to being elected as an MEP, Anneliese worked as a senior lecturer. Her research focused on what Britain can learn from other European countries to improve the safety and quality of health care, to combat social exclusion, and to make regulation more effective. She is also chair of a debt and welfare advice centre on the estate where she lives in Oxford.
As well as a committed campaigner, Anneliese is a mum to young Freddie. Anneliese says she wants to put fairness back at the heart of the European Union and believes a strong Labour voice in Europe will help the many struggling families, job hunters and businesses in the South East.
