Labour MEPs have campaigned at European level to protect your health at all levels. From food additives, to dangerous chemicals at work and to free emergency hospital treatment throughout the EU, acting at European level makes a real difference for your health. Labour MEPs have banned dangerous chemicals in children's toys, kept unsafe chemicals out of our food and removed harmful dyes from foods, soft drinks and sweets that cause hyperactivity in children. We are campaigning for better food labelling so you know what is in the food you buy for your family. 

Labour MEPs have also won agreement for a Europe-wide missing child hotline to speed up the vital response by national authorities if a child goes missing. It is only by reinforcing local and national action with European action, that can we build a healthy, strong and protected society.
