Brian Simpson MEP

Brian Simpson was born in Leigh, Lancashire in 1953 into a family of Trade Union and Labour supporters. From an early age he pledged himself to fight against injustice and to campaign for a fairer society. Brian was determined not to go down "Golborne Pit" and worked as a Labour councillor and was elected as an MEP in 1989.

He has specialised in Transport and Agricultural policy in the European Parliament ever since and is chair of the Transport Committee. He loves most sports, but has a great passion for Rugby League and a keen interest in Football and Cricket.
